AB 540 Students Should Be Turned Away From Long Beach State Before Legal Residents

The term AB 540 Student is a politically correct term for students that are illegal immigrants or one without papers. When AB 540 was passed into law in 2001, it opened CSUs and UCs to illegal aliens by offering tuition at in state prices and into an already overcrowded college system in which they effectively and justly have no place.

Fast forward to 2009 about 600 students are estimated to be AB 540 students at Long Beach State. There is talk of cutting classes and admission which is all quite unfortunate.

In regards to admission why not just do away with AB 540 students? Currently AB 540 students are not elgible for federal financial aid which is great, but with the Dream Act on the horizon that may change in the near future. American Citizens are entitled to the public education system as a citizen or legal resident, your parents or guardians most likely paid into the tax system so legal residents should be entitled to education before illegal aliens regardless of merit.

Now this may sound harsh but illegal alines and their anchor babies are not only destroying our state but our education system. If there were state surplus then one could justify financing illegal aliens and looking the other way.

According to the Federation for American Immigration Reform (FAIR) examines the costs of education, health care and incarceration of illegal aliens, and concludes that the costs to Californians is $10.5 billion per year. 7.7 billion dollars goto the education of illegal aliens and 1.4 million goes to healthcare and incarceration of illegals. these numbers are just general expense in California for illegals, with a 24 billion dollar shortfall deportation become more of an appropriate way of balancing the budget.(http://usgovinfo.about.com/od/immigrationnaturalizatio/a/caillegals.htm)



The Martinez et al v. Regents of the University of California et al. court case states that "…an alien who is not lawfully present in the United States shall not be eligible for any postsecondary education benefit unless a citizen or national of the United States is eligible for such a benefit without regard to whether the citizen or national is such a resident."

The out-of-state students also established unfair exclusion from reaping their lawfully deserved benefits, by having state law "illegally discriminate" against them "by denying them a benefit provided to illegal aliens."

Furthermore, balancing the numbers and enrollment at Long Beach State could be partially done by eliminating AB 540 students who have no legal right to be attending college before US citizens.

Overall it would be great to help out illegals in all aspects of their educational needs and desires but, legal residents come first. How can California help others if California cannot even help itself? People need to be financially cut off financially in the state who better and more deserving then illegal aliens of any race?

CSULB Student Leader Named To the Top 100 Conservative College Activists in the Nation

The Phillips Foundation today announced the winners of the merit-based scholarships for academic year 2009-2010 under its Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program. Marking its 10th anniversary, the Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program offers renewable and one-time scholarships to the “Top 100” college undergraduates who demonstrate exceptional achievements as campus leader-activists against “political correctness” and ideological conformity, and for freedom, American values, and Constitutional principles on their campuses.

California State University Long Beach's own Jason Aula, who is the president of the Conservative Student Union, has been named to the list of top 100 conservative activists in the country. Jason is a Senior majoring in Financial Management and Financial Engineering. Jason has brought numerous speakers through his years at CSULB and does not intend to let up this coming year. According to Aula, "I will be starting work on my MBA in the spring and still have a few more years to create an even larger sphere of conservative influence at Long Beach State".

The Phillips Foundation, based in Washington, D.C., is a non-profit organization founded in 1990 to advance Constitutional principles, a democratic society, and a vibrant free enterprise system. In addition to the Ronald Reagan College Leaders Scholarship Program, the Foundation administers an annual journalism fellowship program which awards grants to print and online journalists early in their careers.

Iranian President Ahmadinejad Denies Holocaust and Bitches Around Obama

Instead of being the leader of the free world, Mr. Obama is making the United States' international policy look a lot like Cuba's. Israel is the United States' only Middle Eastern ally. As Americans, it is our obligation to stand up and defend Israel against the Islamic dictators of the world. President Obama needs to stand up to Iran and make sure that they do not create weapons that will put Israel in danger. Obama needs to stop pandering to the Arab Muslim world. In a speech he made in Egypt, President Obama addressed Arab Muslims. He addressed several issues, including the Israeli-Palestanian tensions.

First of all, it is wrong to even call them Palestanians, for there is no such culture today. True Palestanians have not been in existence since biblical times. In his speech, Obama was really referring to a group of Arabs, whom none of the Arab nations will take in. Maybe it's time Obama goes back to Bible School and learn his biblical history before calling these people Palestanian.

It was nice that he mentioned Israel's right to exist and its importance, but he promotes a "Palestanian State." This might work in a perfect world, but this is not a perfect world. Even if Israel recognizes an independent "Palestanian State," TERRORIST attacks on Israel will continue. Arabs feel that Israel should not exist and they teach their children to continue fighting until Israel is wiped off the map.

How can you have a peaceful region with two states when one wants to push the other into the ocean? In Arab schools, maps show that whole region as Palestine. Israel is nowhere on that map. Although Arabs in the region are a major threat to the security of Israel, another threat exists for Iran. The illegal newly-elected President of Iran has stated numerous times that he will never recognize the right of existence of Israel. As long as he is in power, he will continue to threten Israel with nuclear weapons. Obama needs to stop his so-called "diplomacy talks" with Ahmadinejad and work to get him kicked out of office. Then, Obama needs to make sure that Iran elects a new president that will not continue being a threat. President Obama seems to be telling Arabs what they want to hear. He is not taking real action to help defend Israel or even his country, for that matter. He is in the pockets of, not only the "Palestanian people," but also in the pockets of the illegal Iranian President Ahmadinejad.

Obama The Socialist Nationalizes General Motors

One of the most despicable and anti-capitalist presidential actions was the nationalization of General Motors, a company that once symbolized America's economic power.

The United States government should not be running a private business, regardless of the fabricated illusions portrayed by the King of Socialism. George W. Bush did not help the situation by bailing out GM during his administration. Obama has taken the blunders to a whole new level! By "nationalizing" General Motors, tax payers are on the hook for 60% of the company. There is no guarantee GM will ever turn a profit again. This situation is no different than an investment. One could lose everything.



Ultimately, the government controlling GM not only has financial implications, but more indirect financial and non-financial implications. In particular, MPG regulation and green technology are all liberal agendas. Energy efficient cars and pay cuts for union workers are not fair and are indirectly being imposed upon GM. Keep in mind both implications are a loss of power for both the left and right-wing.

GM would not even be close to bankruptcy if unions had not extorted for generations and generations. The union thugs have greed to console one another now that the reign of union extortion is over.

The one bright side about the nationalization of GM is no more union thugs will be extorting GM.....

Reverse Racist Sotomayor Needs to apologize!

Sonia Sotomayor needs to publically apologize for the comments she made in 2001. If her words are simply being taken out of context, why doesn't she come forward and deal with it immediately? Moreso, if she wants to clarify them it should be done in a public session, not in the simple release of statement.

Despite the fact that many are over-hyping her appointment as a "historical first," Sotomayor is not actually the first Latino Supreme Court Justice. The first Supreme Court Justice of Latino heritage was Benjamin N. Cardozo, a Jewish man of Iberrian heritage. He was appointed in 1932 by Republican President Herbert Hoover. Cardozo was one of the greatest Supreme Court Justices, and was universally admired during his tenure by both Republicans and Democrats, something that a political indivisive figure like Sotomayor can never achieve. The single greatest thing that Herbert Hoover probably ever did as president was appoint such a noble and talented man to America's greatest court. Let's be honest, the failings of Herbert Hoover's term in office makes Bill Clinton look like Abraham Lincoln!

At Long Beach State, one can make the assumption that classifying oneself as a Right-Winger, Republican, or any form of disagreement of Liberalism is blasphemy. With one-sided thinkers like Dumb Duke Rescola running the editorial section of the Daily 49er, one would assume going to CSULB is like living in Cuba....

Dumb Duke Rescola is the perfect example of a socialist dictator. When an individual does not send in a left-leaning editorial to the Daily 49er, Rescola will send hate mail or even a racial slur.

So called Left-Wing progressive groups such as FORCE, La Raza Student Association, and LGBT are intolerant of individuals that disagree with their ideology. These are traits and characteristics of bigot one-sided thinking individuals.

With challenges presented by the biased Daily 49er Op-ed, intolerant left-wing political groups on campus, and left-leaning professors on campus, what is a Conservative to do?
